Senior Business Services Accountant
About the Role
The Senior Business Services Accountant will provide high level tax and accounting support to the clients and the Equil team internally. Needs to be willing to delegate and mentor Junior staff.
Responsibilities of the role will include, but are not limited to:
Accounting and Tax
- Preparation of Financial Statements and Tax Returns for Individuals, Companies, and Trusts and Consolidated Financials
- Preparation of various IAS, BAS, Payroll Tax, and FBT returns
- Preparation and lodgement of R&D and EMDG grants
- Assist with client business advisory including Tax Planning, GST, FBT, Div 7A and CGT matters
- Client group restructures – creating new companies, separation of assets and etc
- Willingness to learn or carry out research on topics when required
- Roll up sleeves and dig deep into client work when required.
Outsourced CFO
- Company account clean ups – new clients and existing clients (management of AR/AP/Payroll and overall general ledger)
- Process implementation – AR/AP/payroll, payment portals, improve transaction methods etc, planning in relation to cashflow.
- Continually reviewing existing processes to see what can be improved/adjusted
- Weekly or fortnightly Cashflows Forecasts and financial modelling – for new or existing clients from scratch
- Monthly Management Reports and Quarterly Consolidated Financials
- Regular phone calls with clients regarding various matters e.g. financial and or process oriented.
General
- Being available for the general team to assist where necessary
- Assist with maintenance and improvement of internal processes with individual team members and management
- Autonomously manage jobs and client relationships, with assistance from an Assistant Manager and or a Director.

To be successful, you will need:
- A strong technical knowledge of accounting and taxation
- Proficient in Xero, MYOB and Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of products
- Comfortable with engaging with clients and colleagues
- Near completion or completed a recognised post-graduate accounting qualification (preferably CA)
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
Intermediate Accountant
About the Role
You will be an integral part of a growing team, with an opportunity to work closely with the partner of the firm. You will also be encouraged to manage client relationships from day one, whilst managing the following tasks:
- Completing year-end Financial Accounts and Income Tax Returns (for all entity types)
- Preparing business analytical data (financial ratios, benchmarking, tax planning, etc)
- Work closely with business owners via the firm’s Outsourced CFO service line
- Prepare management reports, cash flows and budgets (Outsourced CFO)
- Completing all other statutory compliance requirements
- Liaising with government bodies. E.g. ATO, ASIC etc.

About the Applicant
We are seeking highly motivated and driven individuals. To be successful you will have the following attributes:

- Be able to work under pressure, meet deadlines and be target driven
You will also have the following experience and education:
- Degree qualified (majoring in Accounting)
- CPA/CA preferred but not essential
- Highly skilled with Xero and MYOB
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a public practice firm
